- 25-year Algae Resistance coverage requires the use of Owens Corning® Berkshire®, DecoRidge®,
DuraRidge®, ImpactRidge®, ProEdge®, or RIZERidge®, Hip & Ridge Shingles. If a qualifying Owens
Corning® manufactured ridge product is not used, the Algae Resistance warranty period is reduced from 25
to 10 years, and the non-prorated period will be 1 year. Supreme® shingles feature a 10-year Algae
Resistance Limited Warranty. Algae Resistance is available on a regional basis. ← - Shingle coverage applies without Owens Corning® components. Minimum 3 required for components to

WARRANTY COVERAGE OF OWENS CORNING® SHINGLES AND SOLAR PANEL SYSTEMS

Issue Description:
There are a variety of reliable solar panel mounting and rack systems on the market, and the Owens Corning roof system is fully
compatible with properly installed systems. However, the installer must protect the surface of the roof during installation.
It is also critical that the installer follow the Owens Corning installation instructions as well as the solar panel and panel
mounting manufacturer’s mounting application instructions.
We warrant that your Owens Corning®roofing shingles and component products are free from any manufacturing defects.
Warranty coverage for all Owens Corning Limited Roofing Warranties is in full effect when installed underneath a solar panel system with the following limitations:
- The solar mounting, racking, and panel systems themselves are non-Owens Corning® products not covered by any Owens Corning warranty.
- Damage to the underlying roof system during installation of the solar panel system is not a roofing manufacturing defect and is not covered by the warranty.
- Installation workmanship of the solar mounting system or damage to the roof resulting from the solar installation isexcluded from workmanship coverage under Owens Corning workmanship warranties (Preferred Protection and Platinum Protection Roofing Limited Warranties).
